Overview

BKF is providing civil engineering design services for the renovation of UC Davis’s oldest standing building, a 44,500‑square‑foot, two‑story structure being transformed into a seismically safe Graduate Student Center with additional classrooms and a 250‑seat lecture hall. The project includes significant site and utility improvements, such as a new bicycle parking lot, an upgraded area drain system, and the installation of underground steam, chilled water, hot water, and potable water utilities within a common underground trench. The redevelopment also meets new LEED v4 Rainwater Management credits, supporting the university’s sustainability goals while modernizing a historic facility to serve future generations.
