Unaware of her evolving future career path, Carissa worked as an administrative assistant at a local engineering firm during her time at junior college. In order to have a better understanding of what her engineering coworkers were doing, she took a drafting class and was completely hooked. Upon graduation from Sacramento State, she joined BKF’s Sacramento office in 2013 and began working on projects in a variety of markets including K-12 education, healthcare, residential, and commercial.

A self-proclaimed coffee addict, Carissa loves it all ways; iced, hot, black, blonde. She and her husband, Paul, enjoy relaxing at home with their two dogs, or a day out with friends visiting local breweries. She loves that although in actuality a larger firm, working at BKF affords a personal, small-company vibe and numerous opportunities for great collaboration with her colleagues.
