Bobby’s career didn’t begin in civil engineering. In fact, he originally dreamed of becoming an architect but his initial love for art and design in high school, combined with his strength in math, made civil engineering a perfect fit. Bobby has learned the importance of clear communication, making sure everyone is on the same page from the start. This helps him address obstacles by identifying solutions with his clients, helping them set realistic goals. By addressing potential issues early and keeping clients informed, Bobby can navigate these challenges effectively.
For Bobby, the most interesting part of his day comes from the unique challenges his clients bring and the creative problem-solving required so his clients can accomplish their goals. Whether it’s finding a solution to an unconventional issue or working with his team to ensure their success, Bobby thrives on the dynamic nature of his role. He enjoys helping his team members excel, knowing that their success is a reflection of his leadership.
When Bobby reflects on his career, he feels grateful to have found a niche within civil engineering that he’s passionate about—transportation. While at BKF, he has learned that engineering is just one piece of the puzzle. It’s equally important to consider the broader impacts of projects, such as community needs and government policies, to create truly successful outcomes.
Bobby’s success isn’t just a result of his own efforts. Behind him is a strong support system, especially his wife, An. Her encouragement and support have been a constant throughout his career, and Bobby is quick to acknowledge the important role she plays in his journey.
