An outdoor enthusiast, who enjoys mathematics and history, Kevin was thrilled when he realized that a career in surveying incorporated these three things he enjoys doing most. He spent 12 years as a surveyor in California before stumbling upon BKF when he was looking for an opportunity to grow as a surveyor and a professional. “Some of my colleagues had already joined the BKF family and they spoke highly of the work environment, the growth opportunities, and the mentorship of the excellent leadership team. It sounded like a great place to be.” He joined the BKF team in 2015.
Kevin says that one thing he enjoys most about working at BKF is the support of the leadership team. “Under the umbrella of practicing land surveying, there are opportunities that we are allowed and encouraged to explore,” he said. “While we never ignore our core surveying services and great clients, we are given the freedom to grow our skills and services into the many new and exciting areas of surveying that are becoming available, as technology tries to catch up with our imaginations.”
His favorite project to date has been the construction of Salesforce Tower. He says the responsibility to construct the tallest occupied building on the West Coast was a great challenge and honor, especially since no building in California had ever been built this tall before. “We had the opportunity to push the limits of survey equipment, processes and procedures,” he said. “It was exciting to use new ideas, technology, and solutions to solve old problems faster and smarter for our clients.”
