Back in 2002, a chance meeting in the hallway at Santa Rosa Junior College with one of his instructors led Jason to a drafting position with Carlenzoli & Associates (which later became part of BKF Santa Rosa in 2009). Over the years, and with a lot of hard work and great mentorship and support, Jason worked his way through the ranks and is now a Principal in our Santa Rosa office. He feels fortunate for opportunity to work on some of the most exciting projects in the North Bay.

One recent project he is particularly proud of was Andy’s Unity Park in Sonoma County, which received Community Project of the Year from the North Coast Chapter of ACEC. The much-needed neighborhood park was built in memory of a teen who was tragically killed at the site, and includes a meditation area, a memorial, a community garden, a wetland area with signage, a dog park, skate park, and playground. “There were high expectations and demands involved with this project,” he said, “and my team worked really hard and managed to get it done. It was satisfying to build a beautiful park, and winning the award was icing on the cake.”

An avid traveler, Jason has had the opportunity to visit all 50 states, and even while this is his home state, he will always rank California as number one. “California is amazing because you’re a weekend away from everything; mountains, coast, redwoods, desert. You basically have a representation of every climate and environment in the whole Western hemisphere here.”
