Davis started his BKF career as a Technician 1 in our Walnut Creek office, and since then has gone on to work in our Redwood City, Pleasanton, San Jose, and Newport Beach offices; climbing up the corporate ladder, eventually reaching the Principal level. Over his career, he has had the opportunity to work on a variety of iconic projects both in the Bay Area and in southern California, including the BART extension to San Francisco Airport, the new Warriors’ Arena, Santana Row in the South Bay, Gerald Desmond Bridge in Long Beach, and many others. “In terms of projects, I really like a good challenge,” he said. “I feel inspired when our clients come to us with a challenge, and then we go about finding a solution to that challenge.”

Passionate about making mentorship and apprentice opportunities for younger staff, Davis finds ways to give back to the teams who are just starting out in their careers. Because our survey groups continue to grow at a rapid pace, he is adamant about making sure they receive the same training opportunities which were afforded to him early in his career at BKF. “In California there aren’t many companies who employ the depth of surveyors as we have at BKF. We recognize that it’s important to invest time in training the next generation of surveyors.”

Davis says the sky is the limit when it comes to the pathways up in growing your career at BKF. “If someone wants to do something and has aptitude for it – there’s not many folks here who say no,” he said. “We definitely welcome staff ideas on developing new and better ways to do things.”
