Mitchell Park Library & Community Center, Palo Alto

Shinsei Gardens, Alameda

BKF provided design and survey services for this award winning, LEED Platinum certified apartment complex built on the former U.S. Navy Fleet Industrial Supply Center. It serves low-income households, with priority given to veterans. All units are universally designed for accessibility and sustainability.

Kaiser Medical Office Building,
San Mateo

BKF assited with the design of a new Kaiser medical office building in San Mateo. This innovative design-build project acheived 100% biological treatment of storm water.

Sequoia High School Gymnasium, Redwood City

BKF provided civil design for the new LEED Platinum certified gymnasium. BKF was also involved with site improvements for a new Teen Wellness Center, a new parking area, and various ADA accessibility improvements throughout the school campus.

Mills College Betty Irene Moore Natural Science Building, Oakland

BKF provided civil engineering services for the Mills College renovation of the Natural Sciences Complex. Services included grading, drainage, storm, sewer, utility and fire water connection.

Intuit, Mountain View

BKF is assisting Intuit with its vision of high sustainability, designing many sustainable features on the campus. The design preserves existing trees, uses native drought tolerant plants, develops green storm water management strategies, creates alternative transportation options and uses the latest renewable energy technologies.

Jacobs Institute of Design Innovation, UC Berkeley

"Design innovation starts with asking the right questions and ends with changing the world." - Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation. Jacobs Hall is a new 20,000 SF building for the University of California Berkeley College of Engineering. BKF supplied supplemental topographic surveying services for the existing conditions, site grading, paving and drainage improvements plans, and utility services for the new building.

Stanford University Energy System Innovation

The new central energy facility is the hub of the Stanford University Energy System Innovations (SESI) project recieved the Best Global Green Project award by ENR in 2016. The $380-million project includes many energy saving and sustainable features including a new central energy facility with the largest heat-recovery chillers ever installed in the U.S.

Mission Bay Parks, San Francisco

The parks of Mission Bay are part of a master planned greenway that serve the blossoming population on San Francisco’s waterfront. Home to the University of California San Francisco Mission Bay Campus, new corporate headquarters, UCSF Hospital, numerous residents, and other mixed uses, these parks play an integral role in Mission Bay’s urban landscape.

Sonoma Mountain Village

BKF is providing civil engineering and planning services for Sonoma Mountain Village (SOMO). SOMO intends to transform the former 175-Acre Lucent Technologies light industrial manufacturing campus into a vibrant mixed-use sustainable village.

Walnut Creek Library

Awarded through a design competition, BKF provided civil engineering and surveying services for the new Walnut Creek Main Library. The library features an underground parking garage, plazas, gardens, and streetscape improvements.  Key features incorporated into the project by BKF include bioretention facilities to promote storm water quality, a permanent dewatering system, and modifications to the existing traffic signal at the intersection of Broadway and Lincoln Streets.

Juniper Networks, Sunnyvale

BKF has been providing civil engineering and surveying services for this 80-acre commercial campus. Design included rezoning, general plan amendments, CEQA processing, master planning, and engineering. Survey included ALTA surveys, parcelization, entitlement processing, and full construction plans for the campus site layout, grading, and utility plans.

LBNL FLEXLAB / Net-Zero User Facility, Berkeley

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, FLEXLAB Facility for Low Energy Experiments in Buildings. BKF provided civil engineering design, site surveying, and construction administration services for the design and construction of a new Net Zero and low-energy-building research facility, now called the FLEXLAB.
