BKF has 60+ surveyors, including 15 licensed land surveyors and 15 field survey crews. We have many years of experience in High Definition Surveying (HDS). With the use of Leica HDS Scanners, BKF has the ability to collect high resolution point cloud data for projects. HDS scanning can collect up to 1,000,000 points per second  providing large amounts of data for increased accuracy and speed and provides data to create 3-dimensional models of most projects, including topographical site surveys, roadway and highway surveys, ADA Surveys, buildings, bridges, striping, utility plants, etc.

San Francisco

The Transbay Tower in San Francisco will total approximately 1.3 million square feet of commercial office space and become the tallest building in San Francisco.

Treasure Island, San Francisco

BKF has been involved in the base closure and re-use of Treasure Island for the past 8 years assisting the Development Team and City with planning and coordination of project infrastructure. Our efforts have included the review of the existing infrastructure systems, site planning assistance, conceptual utility designs, and preliminary construction cost estimates for the redevelopment project. We have worked closely with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and Department of Public Works to develop project standards and designs for street layout, storm drain, potable water, recycled water, sanitary sewer, street and storm water quality designs.

Juniper Networks, Sunnyvale

BKF has been providing civil engineering and surveying services for this 80-acre commercial campus. Design included rezoning, general plan amendments, CEQA processing, master planning, and engineering. Survey included ALTA surveys, parcelization, entitlement processing, and full construction plans for the campus site layout, grading, and utility plans.

Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement,
Long Beach

BKF is providing civil and surveying services to the design-build replacement bridge in support of a sustainable environment. Safety will be improved and traffic hazards will be reduced by reducing grades and adding dedicated lanes for emergency services vehicles.

City of Healdsburg Downtown Utility and Streetscape Improvements

BKF was retained by the City of Healdsburg to provide utility and streetscape improvements in historic downtown Healdsburg.  The primary objective of this project is to increase pedestrian mobility through enhanced sidewalks. The project is creating pedestrian zones that cater to the passing public, window shoppers and those seeking an outdoor dining experience from restaurants adjacent to the new sidewalks.

Lincoln Unified School District, Stockton

BKF prepared construction documents for the construction of a new administration building and four modular buildings, reconfiguration of the existing parking lots to improve circulation, addition of a new parking lot providing additional ADA stalls, and utilities to serve the proposed buildings. Services included topographic, utility, and boundary surveys, civil design of pavements, drainage, utilities, and erosion control, circulation analysis, earthwork calculations, and domestic water hydraulic calculations.

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose

BKF provided civil engineering design and surveying for all on-site work and for the off-site utility extensions for the new administrative office building.
