City of Berkeley – On-Call Surveys

The City of Berkeley retained BKF for on call surveying services. The project required coordination with the City Engineering staff to provide project approach, estimates of cost and schedules for completing various surveying projects.
Examples of work completed to date include:
- Several street topographic surveys which located all improvements from back of walk to back of walk, including utilities, crowns, grade breaks and trees.
- GPS survey to check coordinate values of city monuments - used to compare with existing values to determine effect of local landslides.
- Utility surveys of small areas of storm drain systems and sanitary sewer systems.
- Condition reports of each structure to be used in design and also to be used as data in the City GIS.
- Construction layout of design improvements for construction of new sidewalks and curb and gutter for Arlington Ave.
