BART Extension to San Francisco International Airport
(San Mateo County, California)
How can you have a mass transit system without a connection to the regions major airport? That was a question frequently asked by Bay Area residents and weary travelers. No more. Today, with assistance from BKF, the connection has been made.
- GPS control surveys, boundary surveying and mapping, and utility verification surveys.
- Recorded historical records and re-establishment of the railroad right-of-way created in 1982.
- Performed extensive research to identify and locate existing utilities.
- Field surveyed and resolved the right-of-way on the approximately 120 adjoining parcels.
- Coordinated with BART's potholing contractor to uncover and survey over 300 utility locations.
