The best tools
BKF Engineers is dedicated to using high technology design tools to produce the best possible products for our clients. In order to achieve this, BKF has and will continue to make significant investments in advanced technology through computer hardware and software. BKF currently invests approximately $600,000 a year towards providing the latest design tools for our employees.

Internet:
- BKF has an active web site (www.bkf.com) containing information about the company and providing a means for posting job openings. Resumes can be submitted via the web site as well.
- High speed Internet access is maintained with redundant links to the outside world.
- Employees have access to the web for project management and research.
Software:
- BKF currently has 130 AutoCAD seats that are used for design. In addition, we are using Land Development Desktop and Civil 3D running on AutoCAD 2008 along with several add-on applications that provide the designer with robust design tools. BKF also maintains our own in-house module for drawing standards.
- Microsoft Office is networked company-wide for word processing and spreadsheet applications. We also have licenses for many other programs (over 120 programs in all) that are used for special design purposes.
- BKF actively monitors the use of software to insure that we are within our license allocations.

Hardware:
- Standard AutoCAD workstations are Quad Core, 3.4 Ghz, 4GB Ram, 120 gig hard drives, 22” widescreen monitor.
- All BKF offices are connected via a wide area network (WAN) over multiple T-1 High Speed Links (copper and wireless).
- BKF presently has 34 Windows and Linux servers on our network with over 5.5 Terrabytes of data storage. Work stations are connected to servers with 100/1000mbs Ethernet links.
- Data is saved on multiple Raid 5 arrays and backed up nightly insuring minimal downtime and maximum data security.
- BKF has 6 large format high-speed laser plotters and 4 large format color plotters. We also have 26, 11”x17” capable laser and multifunction printers.
